Playstation 5 Repair | June 2026

In June, we received two PlayStation 5 consoles for repair, both with the exact same issue; a damaged HDMI port.
Both consoles were disassembled, the faulty HDMI ports were removed, and new ports were soldered in place. After reassembly, thorough testing was carried out to ensure that both video and audio signals were working properly.
At the same time, we took the opportunity to inspect the condition of the liquid metal cooling. We found some signs of uneven distribution, which we corrected. After inspection and reassembly, both consoles passed all functional tests and were ready to be returned to their owners.
The HDMI port is one of the most common issues on the PlayStation 5, often caused by strain on the cable or an accidental tug while the HDMI cable is connected. Fortunately, this type of damage can usually be repaired without replacing the motherboard or other expensive components.
